Downtown Kansas City
On the south side of Downtown Kansas City the three-track main line of Kansas City Terminal
Railway passes by the Crossroads Arts District and Union Station. With the daily parade of 100 or
more trains plus six arrivals/departures of Amtrak per day, something is almost always happening to interest the
railfan.
Don't forget to take advantage of all the great things to see and do in the vicinity of Union Station.
Need a place to stay? Check out the Westin Crown Center Hotel. For a really
memorable dining experience, be sure to have lunch or dinner at Fritz's Railroad Restaurant in the
adjacent Crown Center shopping mall.
On the north side of the Downtown area next to the river, BNSF trains slowly wind around the
sharp curves on the approach to the Hannibal Bridge across the Missouri River while Union Pacific trains travel at
a faster pace going to and from Neff Yard on the east side of KC.
